the association are: to implement projects of active citizenship also through the forms of volunteering and
collaboration of young people; managing social services as well as other initiatives for free time, culture,
sport and the associative daily life, aimed at improving the quality of life of young people; to organize
awareness campaigns addressed to young people about major interest’s topics such as drugs, alcohol, sex,
street education, gambling, etc. ; to promote project activities in the field of social action by encouraging
investigations and debates on youth unemployment, education and training that foster young people's
participation, about equality between women and men, sustainable development and protection of the
environment, fighting violence and delinquency, as well as discrimination, and about access to rights.
European Ideas realizes all this activities with the contribution of local authorities, public institutions and,
above all, structures and private subjects. In order to achieve this social purpose, the Association promotes:
studies, researches, debates, editorial initiatives, cultural education and updating in the field of youth
policies, publication of newsletters, magazines, brochures and guides to promote youth gathering by
engaging young people in cultural, recreational and sports activities.
The project
Over Limits Sports
The project "Over Limits Sports" intends to initiate a process that promotes the social inclusion of people
with psychological problems through the practice of sporting activities for young people. Through the
organization of various types of sporting activities, which will be carried out involving young people from
different European countries, the project makes them aware of their own value. "Over Limits Sports" helps
the young people involved to discover the possibility of practicing new sports and activities to strengthen
their self-esteem. In fact, each partner will organize sporting activities and workshops, depending on the
skills and experiences of each organisation; for example, basketball activities will be carried out in Greece,
rhythmic gymnastics activities in Croatia, cycling activities in Macedonia and so on… The idea of proposing
this project was born from the analysis of data relating to the number of young Europeans with
psychological problems and the resulting consequences. Sport represents a tool capable of helping these
people achieve a level of well-being that allows them to lead a fairly normal life. The project promotes
sport as a means that ensures physical and psychological well-being. Practicing sports and interacting with
other young people with the same problems, as well as the possibility of carrying out activities abroad, will
give participants the opportunity to feel freer and more secure, even when looking for future employment.
The project activities encourage healthy lifestyle and promote sport and physical activity as a tool for
health. The project fully incorporates the European Charter of Sport for All, the old White Paper on sport,
the GREEN PAPER to improve the mental health of the population and the principles of the EU4Health work
program for 2023 related to the protection of citizens' mental health. The project also intends to
strengthen cooperation between organizations from different European countries and increase the skills of
the less experienced ones in the field of European planning. Furthermore, this cooperation will result in an
exchange of skills between the volunteers and sports trainers of the various organisations, allowing each of
them to benefit, in the future, from skills to be able to replicate in their own countries the activities carried
out during the project.
